London Fashion Week

 London Fashion week is sandwiched in the middle of New York Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week, It seems to be a little bit of a low key affair compared to the other fashion weeks albeit still with a huge influence on the fashion scene with its legacy of designers such as Burberry, Victoria Beckham, Alexander McQueen and of course Vivian Westwood . This fashion week has not disappointed.

I always like to see what people are wearing to the events and that's how I usually get my inspiration for creating outfits and shopping for them in thrift and charity shops. The street style from this weeks events demonstrates a perfect blend of elegance, preppy and a hint of edge. Here are a few examples of what was seen in street style looks this week.

The Met Gala 2021

 The Met Gala is one of the world's most glamorous events, which is set to return at the end of New York Fashion Week.  

This event is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.  The theme for this years event is celebrating America and US designers.

The Met Gala encourages the kind of innovation rarely seen on the red carpet. Here are some of my favourite looks from this evenings events. 

New York Fashion Week Street Style

 Where ever there is fashion week there will inevitably be street style.  A number of street style photographers are finally out on the streets of New York taking those incredibly inspiring photos we all know and love.

This year I think the street style will be of the like we have never seen before as people celebrate being able to attend these in person events.  It time to see and be seen!

Fall 2021 Jewellery Trends

 The Past year has ushered in a new era of waist up dressing, that puts jewellery especially earrings and necklaces very much in the spot light this season.  It is the frosting to every cake!! 

 

Unsurprisingly these were the categories that designers focused on.  The jewellery consists of cascading pearls, chains, beads and crystals all of which have a flirtatious swing to them and will defiantly animate any outfit.

Fringe being one of the major trends for this season, be it tassel earrings and necklaces to being used throughout clothing and bags.

Also following the new remake of Sex in the City the flower pin is having a come back, and maybe representing signs of budding optimism for the future.

New York Fashion Week 21

 New York fashion Week is back after an 18 month pause due to the pandemic.  But on the plus side there is a silver lining to the for mentioned pandemic and that is that there is a renewed focus on independent designers, which is amazing. 

New York Fashion Week is held between the 8th and 12th of September.  Some of the shows I will be looking out for are Moschino on the 9th Sept, as well as Carolina Herrera, Tory Birch, Coach, Staud and Brandon Maxwell will be hosting their shows in a live stream which is available at NYFW.com

Christian Dior Designer of Dreams will also be hosting an event at The Brooklyn Museum to launch a new exhibition, '' which will showcase over two hundred haute couture garments, archival photographs, videos, sketches and much more.

The New York Fashion week will conclude with the Met Gala for the very first time, which was postponed from its normal slot in May.  This is a glittering star studded celebration of all things fashion, and this years theme is America: a Lexicon of Fashion.  

Copenhagen Fashion Week Street Style for Spring Summer 22

 There was plenty of action on the streets of Copenhagen for their Spring/Summer 22 fashion week.  So far the street styles remain rooted to oversized tailoring with a myriad of blazers, leather looks and accent colours.  There was also a healthy does of monochromatic looks as well.  These Copenhagen street style looks are proof of Go Bright or Go Home!!

Copenhagen's fashion set definitely didn't shy away from making a statement, which is what makes their street style looks some of the best for the entire fashion month.
